OUR BRANDS
As of December 2024, Restaurant Brands operates over 521 quick-service restaurants (QSRs) – from the bottom of New Zealand all the way to sunny California, USA. Restaurant Brands is a large and growing organisation with a global footprint. We employ over 12,500 people across our KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and Carl’s Jr. brands, serving hundreds of thousands of customers every day in New Zealand, Australia, Guam, Saipan, Hawaii, and Southern California.

Finger Lickin’ Good!
KFC first arrived in New Zealand in 1971, opening its very first store in Auckland. Since then, it has grown to over 100 stores nationwide, proudly serving the same delicious “secret recipe” chicken that Kiwis know and love—coated with Colonel Sanders’ famous blend of 11 herbs and spices.
Over the years, we’ve introduced a wide range of new flavours and menu items, including Hot & Spicy Chicken, Wicked Wings, Zinger Burgers, Twisters, Sliders, and Quarter Packs, all of which have become favourites from Kaitaia to Invercargill.

Feeds good times
Pizza Hut was founded in 1958 by two ambitious college students, Frank and Dan Carney, who borrowed $600 from their mother to open a small pizza restaurant in their hometown of Wichita, Kansas. But as the saying goes, “We’re not in Kansas anymore!” Today, Pizza Hut serves over a million pizzas every day through more than 15,600 restaurants across 90 countries, making it the world’s No.1 pizza brand.
Built on the idea that pizza night should always be special, the first Pizza Hut in New Zealand opened its doors in New Lynn, Auckland, in September 1974. Now, Pizza Hut has a store within an eight-minute drive of 90% of Kiwi homes, with over 100 stores, 500+ home delivery drivers, and a customer database of 900,000 people— nearly everyone in New Zealand can enjoy a delicious Pizza Hut pizza!

Eat like you mean it.
Carl’s Jr. was born in the post-war era in the USA—a time when diners and drive-ins were king, hairstyles were big, and life felt (arguably) simpler. In 1941, a young couple, Carl and Margaret Karcher, took a leap of faith by purchasing their first hotdog cart. From that one cart grew four, and within five years, Carl’s Drive-In Barbeque opened its doors, featuring hamburgers on the menu.
Fast forward to today, and Carl’s Jr.—known for its premium-quality burgers and its vibrant five-pointed happy-star logo—has 17 stores in Aotearoa New Zealand thanks to Restaurant Brands.

Live Más
Restaurant Brands is proud to bring the bold flavours and the big “más” energy of Taco Bell to New Zealand. We launched our first local Taco Bell in 2019 at New Lynn’s Brickworks eatery in Auckland. Since then, we’ve grown to over 17 stores, stretching from Dunedin in the south all the way up to the big smoke of Auckland.
Taco Bell was founded by Glenn Bell in 1962 in Downey, California. Today, it’s the leading Mexican-inspired quick-service restaurant with more than 7,000 locations across the US and a presence in over 27 countries worldwide.
